Tips on Keeping your Car Clean with Pets

Tip # 1 – Wipe their Paws!

It is an absolute struggle to clean car seats that have been soiled with your pet’s paws. This is especially during the rainy season when your pet has decided to jump into a puddle right before they hopped inside your car. One solution to the problem will obviously be addressing the root cause, the paws! No, you cannot get rid of the paws. But you can wipe them clean before your pets gets inside the car. A bunch of pet friendly wipes could do the trick and save you from a great deal of hassle later.

Tip # 2 – Odor Control

Having a dirty car is one issue, having one that stinks is altogether another problem. Did you know that animals excrete sweat from their paws? It is rather a funny smell and can cause you a great deal of embarrassment if you are picking up a friend tat very that. Damage control? Install a strong Air Freshener on the vents of your air conditioner. You can also sprinkle baking soda inside your car and let it stay overnight. This could help take care of the stink.

Tip # 3 – Do not Delay Cleaning-up

You cannot procrastinate on this one! The longer you let the dirt stay in, the more damage it will do. Get yourself a reliable car vacuum and vacuum the area right away where your pet was seated. You can also use a rubber glove trick to clean up the area. The trick is to moisten the rubber glove and rub the area that your pet was seated on. This will collect all the hair and dirt that your pet has left behind.

Tip # 4 – Plan it out

A little planning on your behalf, will go a long way. If you are an absolute pet lover then you can choose a fabric for your car seats that is easy to clean. It is much easier to clean off a mess from leather or vinyl. In case you already have some other fabric, you can purchase covers to save your original seat covers. The covers can be easily removed and washed. Moreover, invest in good quality floor mats for your car that will not wear and tear that easily.

Tip # 5 – Car Cleaning Kit

Even with all the planning, you would be surprised at how unpredictable your pet can be. Hence, you have be prepared for the worst! Make yourself a car cleaning kit that has all the essential items to take care of any damage that lies ahead. The clean-up kit doesn’t have to be elaborate and fancy. Keep the basic items such as paper towels, wet wipes, bags and cleaning products.
